Professional experience

I began my freelance career in June 2014 by launching Provectus Translations with a commitment to providing a friendly, efficient and high-quality translation service. I specialise in medical and pharmaceutical translation and continually seek to further my knowledge in this field through independent reading and research as well as attending CPD courses. I find researching for medical projects fascinating and learn something new every day!

Prior to becoming a freelancer, I held an in-house post at a translation agency for over two years and I learnt to work with many different types of texts, working on projects for a number of high-profile clients, including Dyson, Samsung, John Deere and Xerox.

Qualifications

· From 2006-2010, I studied German and Italian Studies at Warwick University in the UK, and graduated with a BA Hons degree.

· As part of my degree, I studied abroad in Italy, at the Università Carlo Bo in Urbino and the Universität Konstanz in Konstanz, Germany.

· Following my BA degree, I embarked on a Masters in Technical and Specialised Translation, a highly-esteemed translation course at University of Westminster in London. Here, I added Romanian to my language repertoire through a subsidiary language course. I graduated from my Master’s degree in the summer of 2012.

· Alongside my full-time position at APT Transtelex Ltd, I successfully completed a Diploma in Clinical Sciences with Oxford College in order to gain essential knowledge in this area for medical translation.
